Greetings from the Commander

Dear Legionnaires,

Paradise Post 149 logo

On behalf of the American Legion Post 149, I would like to welcome you to our Post. Although we are not the largest Post in Las Vegas, we are very active in the community. As with all volunteer organizations, volunteers are the backbone of our Post and we are always looking for new members to give a helping hand. The work is rewarding and the sense of family is strong and genuine. Besides Post members, we also have support from members of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion.

We work with many organizations in our Military and Veteran's community to provide activities for many people, including activities for children of deployed military members, Christmas Parties for those kids, trips to baseball games, as well as visiting our comrades in the VA hospital, the Fisher House, and Nevada State Veterans Home.

We are proud to sponsor many Legion programs, including the American Legion Boy's and Girl's State, JROTC Awards, and Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation programs, including Operation Vegas Heroes.

Our Post was founded by and has a large number of American Legion Riders in our Post. American Legion Riders are Legionnaires who are also motorcycle riders, and are highly active in the Post and community; riding in parades, memorials, fundraising events, and plain-old good-time riding. American Legion Riders are not a motorcycle club, but are simply Legionnaires who socialize on two-wheels as a social activity of our Post. If you happen to be a motorcycle rider and are interested in riding with us, please email or call me, and I will get back with you personally.

Again, welcome to our Post; I sincerely hope that we will meet in person at the Post or at a Post event. If you are in the area, please stop by and say hello; we are always looking to make new friends. If you are a member and have not been to a Post meeting in a while stop in and see what is new. I promise either way you will be delighted. You can call me at 702-606-4633 or email me at Commander@Post149.org. See you at a Post function!

For God and Country,
Robert "eBay Bob" Bencsko
